Speaking at the Fox Theater [Video]

Wow. The leaps and bounds that this clothing line has made in the Atlanta community baffles us. We began in Cox Hall at Emory University. This year, we were able to present at the University of Georgia, Georgia Gwinnett College, and Morehouse College. The icing on the cake was returning home to Emory University and showing our newest collection. The sold-out Taste of Africa show was held at the Fox Theater. There were hundreds of people in attendance, and the entire production was very tasteful and classy. The food was also amazing. In addition to presenting the clothing line, we partnered with Calabash to create a photo booth for the attendees.

Calabash is a project co-founded by two Emory students, Kwame Wireko and Cole Holan to improve water quality around the world. We had the opportunity to share with the audience about our projects in the motherland. I was able to explain why Mena Mode is important in creating entrepreneurial opportunities for women in Niger. I also discussed why this is important for a country like Niger that ranks second to last on the human development index (HDI).  We explained the progress of our project, and Calabash shared their stories as well. Click the video to see the turnout, speeches, and fantastic photo-booth. To help support, check out our shirts and project site.
